Music by The Piano Brothers

Dennis Wayne Heavner, age 65, of rural Pittsfield, IL passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 at his home.  He was born on October 27, 1953 in Pittsfield, IL to Marion Ross and Pauline Sanders Heavner.  He married Brenda Craddock on December 16, 1976 at the Independence Christian Church, and she survives.  Dennis and Brenda were married on the same day as his parents, 33 years later.

Dennis graduated from Pittsfield High School, Class of 1971.  He worked at Billy’s Bi Rite and for Dr. O’Connell for a time.  Dennis always farmed with his dad on the family farm, and continued to live and work on the farm until his passing.  He enjoyed cutting and selling firewood, being outdoors, and working in the timber.  He served on the Oakwood Cemetery Board and he loved Elvis.  Dennis had so much love for his family and friends, and his daughter meant more than anything to him.  He and Andria greatly enjoyed spending their time together at his childhood home no matter what it was they were doing.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 43 years, Brenda; his daughter, Andria (Eddie) Gates of Pittsfield, IL; brothers, Jerry (Helen) Heavner of Pittsfield, IL and Estill Heavner of Rockbridge, IL; a special nephew, Jayson (Lisa) Heavner of Pittsfield, IL and several other nieces and nephews; and his favorite mother-in-law, Kay Casey of Fairbury, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Ross and Pauline Heavner; daughter, Katherine Danielle Heavner in 1988; and a son in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Pittsfield.  Visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to be made to Oakwood Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left to the family at  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

I was in Dennis's class all through school. He was always such a nice guy and I can remember him as plain as day although we never saw each other since 1971! My sympathy to his family!
