He later worked for PCA and Farm Credit Services as a loan officer and eventually became president of First Bank in Pleasant Hill. He also became a real estate broker and owned his business, “Rick Orr and Associates”. In 1998, he went back to the law enforcement profession. He served as Jail Administrator for the Pike County Sheriff’s Department and eventually became Deputy Director for the Illinois Department of Corrections before retiring.  After retirement, Rick went to work for Central State Bank in Pleasant Hill as a loan reviewer. He served for fifteen (15) years as the Democrat Chairman of the Pike County Democrat Party and was able to attend Democratic National Conventions. He was a member of Masonic Lodge. Rick was known for his sense of humor and personality. He could bring joy and humor to any situation. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, extraordinary sense of humor, and laugh.
