Norma K. Pryor, age 86 formerly of Rockport, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Pittsfield Manor.  Norma was born July 19, 1932 in Rockport, Illinois to Kenneth and Louise (Wells) Doran.  She married James Pryor Jr. on July 28, 1952.

After High School Norma attended Beauty School and worked as a beautician for several years.
Norma worked for Brown Shoe Company as a machinist until it closed and then she worked for Lundia Myers Industries in Jacksonville, Illinois for 18 years.  Norma was a quiet woman that loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.  She also loved her flowers and tending to them.  She loved to travel and enjoyed car rides with her husband. In earlier years they had a team of ponies and she enjoyed riding while her husband took the lead.

Norma is survived by one son Kenny (Alberta)  Pryor of Maywood, Missouri, two daughters Judy (Bill) Zimmer of Jacksonville, Illinois and Kathy (Richard) Helkey of Pittsfield, Illinois; 9 grandchildren, Billy Zimmer, Mark (Page) Zimmer, Brandy (Brian) Kirby, Travis (Melissa) Helkey, Trevor Helkey, Tony (Lindsey) Pryor, Michael (Heather) Pryor, Robert (Valerie) Pryor, Bryan (Megan) Pryor; and ten great-grandchildren also surviving is one daughter-in-law Marilyn of Tennessee and a sister-in-law Margie Doran of Pleasant Hill, Illinois.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, one son Steven and a grandson Patrick David, two brothers, Carl "Sonny" Doran and Dean Doran.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. at Samuel Taylor Cemetery in Rockport. Memorials are suggested to Samuel Taylor Cemetery or donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be left to the family at  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
