Jim served in the United States Marine Corps for 2 years.  Following his Honorable Discharge, he worked for Herschel Craig as a farmer and truck driver, and worked for IPLA as well as King Feed which became United Feed.  He retired from LSSD and hauled grain for Brenton Dean and worked at Logan Agri-Service until he was 82.  Jim was a member of the Griggsville American Legion and held the Vice Commander position in Chrisman, and was also a member of the Griggsville Christian Church.  He enjoyed being outside working in the yard and loved his pride and joy, a 1952 Studebaker.  Jim and Marlene liked to travel, taking many trips to Branson, and went to Niagara Falls for their 40th Anniversary.  They also went on many family vacations and took many trips with Marlene’s graduating class.  Jim loved his children and grandchildren, and was a hardworking man with an ornery sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marlene; five children, Jennifer Blakley of Paris, IL, Steven (Leann) Craig of Nioga, IL, Jay (Janna) Craig of Griggsville, IL, Alicia (Scott) Dunham of Griggsville, IL, Anna (John) Emrick of Griggsville, IL, and one daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Craig of Perry, IL; thirteen grandchildren, Curt (Jamie) Blakley, Chris (Lori) Blakley, Joshua (Julie) Craig, Jill (Corey) Buchanan, Gayla (Lance) Risley, Kimber (Tracey) Martin, Kellen Craig, Kollin (Brittney) Craig, Tasha (Justin) Poggemiller, Preston (Bethany) Dunham, Nathan (Krystal) Emrick, Daman Emrick, and Lacy Emrick; 22 great grandchildren and 2 on the way; and sisters, Rosalie Krabel of Brockton, IL, Betty Kraemer of Paris, IL, Joan Lacy of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Lucille (Bert) Good of Charleston, IL, and Elsie (Elton) Ingram of Chrisman, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul Craig; granddaughter, Courtney Blakley; brothers, Donald Craig and Joseph Craig, and one brother in infancy; and a sister, Mary Lou Krabel.
