Meet the Director - Mike Niebur 

Paul Michael "Mike" Niebur was born in Pittsfield, Illinois, February 1, 1954, the son of Paul Evart and Leoline C. Willard Niebur. Mike is the 7th generation of his family to live, work, and worship in Pike County, Illinois. Mike graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1972 and Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, Illinois.   

He established and founded Niebur Funeral Home in 1976 which is celebrating it's 36th Anniversary this year. In 2003, Niebur Funeral Home opened a new 6000 square foot chapel in Barry, Illinois, and is proud to be a part of that growing and thriving community. He is active in his church and community and is a member of the Pittsfield First United Methodist Church where he serves on the Administrative Council, is church Lay Leader since 1986, sings in the Chancel Choir and serves on the Pastor-Staff Relations Committee, the Finance Committee and Nominating Committee and Board of Trustees.   

Mike is a 32 year retired veteran of the Pittsfield Fire Department, where he held the office of Captain and the Fire Prevention and Education Officer for eighteen years. In addition, Mike is a recipient of the Eric Siepker Fireman of the Year Award. He is a member of Pittsfield Lodge #790 A.F.&A.M., Quincy Consistory, Ansar Shrine Temple, Pike County Shrine Club, National Funeral Directors Association, Illinois Funeral Directors Association, Tri-State Funeral Director Association, and Chairman and Sponsor of Pike County Ducks Unlimited Committee. Mike is also a member of the Moose Lodge #420 and Old Orchard Country Club. He is and avid waterfowler, enjoys golfing and fishing, and a wide circle of friends and family.
