William ‘Bill’ Hannant, age 66 of Pittsfield, IL passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. Bill was born on October 16, 1959, in Pittsfield, IL to Donald and Esther (Peters) Hannant. He married Toni Yonikus on June 9, 1978, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pittsfield, IL and she survives.
Bill graduated from Griggsville High School in 1977 and started working at National Starch Distributing for nine years. He went on to work for Golden Eagle Distributing, working up the ladder until he became the manager of the Hannibal, Kirksville, and Jacksonville offices. Bill retired after 39 years with the company. During his working career he was able to travel with the company to multiple destinations.
Bill was an avid golfer and was proud of the two holes in one he achieved at the Kirksville Country Club. He loved Classic rock music, and played it loud, always enjoying the many concerts he attended over the years. His most loved possession was his family, he was proud of his children and who they have become and even prouder of his grandchildren, he always loved attending their sporting events. Bill loved people and people loved him, he was like a big kid and enjoyed life, he will be missed by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Toni; children, Lindsey (Curt) Lewis of Chatham, IL, Daniel (Jen) Hannant of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Gracyn Lewis and Cooper Lewis; brother, Phillip (Sandy) Hannant; mother-in-law, Sue Yonikus; sisters-in-law, Traci (Kenny) Yelliott, and Tami (Mick) Webel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry Hannant and David Hannant; sister, Marilyn Phillips; father-in-law Dan Yonikus; and niece, Tracy Davis Yelliott.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pittsfield, IL. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the Mass from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the Pike County Animal Shelter or Blessing Hospice.
