William Louis Hoyt

William “Bill” Louis Hoyt, 62 of Barry, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at his residence in Barry, Illinois. He was born July 3, 1961 in Hannibal, Missouri, to Louis William and Eilene Winner Hoyt.

Bill was born and raised in Barry, Illinois, graduating from Barry High School in 1979. In his early years, he was known as “Wild Bill” on his CB radio. He worked at the Barry Shell Station, Pittsfield Farm & Home Supply and a tire shop. He logged throughout his years and worked for area farmers including Bob Steers and Verne & Nathan Reed.

Bill was an avid squirrel, rabbit and deer hunter and enjoyed hunting for mushrooms, which he instilled his love for hunting into his son and grandchildren. He was on the pit crew for Randy Coultas, plus others. He loved car races and the cassino’s. He was a quiet man.

Bill is survived by his son, David Hoyt & Mistal Cox of Marshfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Lewis William Hoyt, Joseph Hoyt and Howard Hoyt; his mother Eilene Hoyt of Barry, Illinois; and a brother, Phillip Hoyt (Shirley) of Cabool, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis William Hoyt on November 11, 2022.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, November 27, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL. Memorials may be made to the family % of Niebur Funeral Chapel.
