William Grigsby Craigmiles

William Grigsby Craigmiles, age 92, of Detroit, IL passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Sharon Healthcare Elms Nursing in Peoria, IL. He was born July 4, 1931, in Hamburg, IL to Steven Eugene and Eta Marie Campbell Craigmiles.

William enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was a truck driver for many years for several area companies. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, bird watching and was a talented woodworker. William especially loved his dogs.

William is survived by sons, Jay (Debbie) Craigmiles and Eric (Bonnie) Craigmiles; daughters, Kelly Craigmiles and Penny (Tim Chapman) Craigmiles; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Byrl Rhoades and Rose Kendall; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Etta Craigmiles; and two sons, Michael ‘Chris’ Craigmiles and Steven Craigmiles.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL with interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
