Wanda Jo Lain

Wanda Jo Lain, age 71, of LaBelle, Missouri and formerly of Barry, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Country Aire Retirement Home in Lewistown, Missouri. She was born May 7, 1954, to Glen D. & Doris J. (Robertson) Lain Sr. in Hannibal, Missouri.

She attended Barry Schools and become an over-the-road truck driver, driving for several companies over the years. After retiring, Wanda helped with a school program that enlisted grandparents helping in the classrooms. Wanda enjoyed gambling-especially at Mark Twain, watching stock car races, and watching wrestling on television. She loved her family and her friends that became her family. Wanda will be remembered as generous, loving, hardworking and always put others first.

Survivors include a nephew, William D. Lain; an aunt, Betty Robertson of Barry, Illinois; the Robertson, Lain and Kelly cousins; special friends, Valerie Williams, Barb Patterson and Linda Duckworth; and “all her truck driving friends.”

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, William & Grace Lain and Oscar & Marie Robertson; and a brother, Glen “Bub” Lain who died August 30, 2016.

Cremation rites have been accorded and no service will be held. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family, to the care of Niebur Funeral Chapel.
