Virginia L. Ruzich, age 95, of Pittsfield, IL passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO. She was born November 18, 1928, in West Frankfort, IL to Isaac and Edna Weaver Seagle. Virginia married her high school sweetheart, John Ruzich February 26, 1949, in Johnston City, IL and he preceded her in death June 26, 2019.
In Virginia’s school years, she enjoyed participating in cheerleading and playing in her high school band. She later attended Garfield Finishing and Business Management and Court Reporting to earn her degree. Virginia was licensed in Pike County and worked for several area attorneys and Pike County Coroner’s office when depositions or inquisitions were required. She also worked for the State of Illinois Department of Aging in Springfield. Virginia used her skills to serve in many church offices where John served as pastor over the years, always happy to assist where needed. She was a wonderful and loyal friend who enjoyed shopping and cooking and always kept a tidy home. Her greatest joy was family, and she could be found following her children and grandchildren in all their sporting events and activities.
Virginia is survived by son, Fred (Jennifer) Ruzich of Pittsfield, IL; daughter, Cindy (Paul) Stevenson of Danville, IL; daughter-in-law, Resa Ruzich of Pittsfield, IL; grandchildren, Chad (Brandi) Ruzich, Jonathon (Tara) Ruzich, Leigh Anna (Eric) Boivin, Tyler (Laura) Ruzich, Sarah (Sam) Bugajski, Mackenzie (Greg) Neukomm and Bryce (Parker) Hale; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
