Virginia May (Colston) Kindle

Virginia M. Kindle, 83 of Barry, Illinois, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Barry Health Care and Senior Living in Barry, IL. She was born February 16, 1942 in Atterberry, IL to Harold “Shorty” & Margie “Helen” Duckwiller Colston. She married Ray F. Kindle Sr. on February 25, 1959 in Pittsfield. He preceded her in death.

Virginia worked at Stark Brother’s Nursery and Clark 54 Drive Inn. Hobbies included reading, playing Bingo, fishing, watching Westerns and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved listening to Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn. Virginia’s favorite team was the St. Louis ‘Cardinals.’ She was of Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by; children, Ray F. (Ann) Kindle of New Canton, IL and Charles D. Kindle of Time, IL; grandchildren, Chandra Kindle, Cletus McChristian, Allen McChristian, Curtis Kindle, James Kindle, Susie Kindle, Steven Kindle; 11 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Sutton, Peggy Christianer, and Judy McChristian; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Colston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; a son, Harold R. (Kathy) Kindle; a brother, Harold “Butch” (Carolyn) Colston; brothers-in-law, Jim Christianer, and Paul McChristian; sisters-in-law, Lula Mae Robinson, Mary Ellen Hathaway, Virginia Irene Winner, Mable Ann Walker, Gladys Dunham; and daughter-in-law, Viola Kindle.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL. There will be no service. Private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family, to the care of Niebur Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
