Timothy James Collver, age 59 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at his home. He was born February 23, 1964, in Pittsfield, IL to James ‘Tip’ and Phyllis Smith Collver.
Tim was a 1982 graduate of Pittsfield High School and attended Truman State University and later obtained his degree from DeVry. Tim enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1985 and served until his honorable discharge in 1989, fulfilling his reserve obligation in 1992. Tim enjoyed attending the Marine Corp birthday party and catching up with his fellow Marines. Tim worked in Austin, TX for Tokyo Electron and Intel in Portland, OR building computer hardware equipment for CPUs. In 2002, Tim and his family started Collver Family Winery in Barry, IL where he served as manager, overseeing production and event management; Tim was always fond of the Murder Mystery Dinners held at the winery. Tim was a member of American Legion Post #152, former member of Pike County Shriners, Masonic Lodge #790 A.F & A.M. and of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was a history buff, loved watching movies, enjoyed reading, swimming, fishing and spending time with his dog, Flash and cat, Ghost. He had a kind smile and good sense of humor and a knack for quoting obscure lines from movies. He will be deeply missed by friends and family.
Tim is survived by his sister, Andrea Hess of Pittsfield, IL; brother, Andy Collver; nieces and nephews, Rachel (Brian Wright) Hess, Matthew Hess, Jace Collver and Julia Collver; great nephews, Jacen Wright and Eli Wright; uncle, Paul (Mary Jane) Smith; cousins, Craig (Carrie) Collver, Caren (Alex) Goloff and Chris Farrington; and good friend, Rich Hoover.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James ‘Tip’ and Phyllis Collver; uncle, Frank ‘Curly’ (Roberta) Collver; aunt, Mantha Collver; cousins, Mike Smith and Carol O’Malley; and his loving canine companion, Flash.
Cremation rites have been accorded and graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at West Cemetery in Pittsfield, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
