Teresa G. Powell

Teresa Powell, age 63, of Pontiac, IL passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.  She was born on July 22, 1958 in Pittsfield, IL to Ronald and Alice Coultas Martin and was later adopted by Alice’s second husband, Donald Doyle.  Teresa married Brian Browning and had two children, Rachel and Kenneth.  She later married Ricky Powell and had two children, Danielle and Amanda.

Teresa was a member of the bicentennial graduating class of 1976 in Pontiac, IL and was on the dean’s list at John Wood Community College in Pittsfield, IL.  In her free time, Teresa enjoyed reading books and putting together puzzles.  She loved classic films and listening to her favorite musician, Elvis, as well as spending time pursuing outdoor activities such as hunting and going to the range with her late husband, Ricky.

She is survived by her mother, Alice Doyle of Pittsfield, IL; four children, Rachel (Matthew) Shonhart of Pittsfield, IL, Kenneth (Hillary) Browning of Birmingham, AL, Danielle Powell of Pontiac, IL, and Amanda Powell of Flanagan, IL; and ten grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ricky L. Powell; her father, Ronald Martin and adopted father, Donald Doyle; and grandparents, George and Maxine Coultas, and Ralph and Ora Ola.

Funeral services will be held privately.  Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery and cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
