Steven M. Reeder

Steven ‘Yogi’ ‘Doc’ Reeder, age 70, of Baylis, IL and formerly of New Hartford passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at his home. He was born August 27, 1953, in Pittsfield, IL to Lyndle ‘Doc’ and Betty Jean Martin Reeder. Steve married Marilyn Sue Stauffer May 29, 1971, in Louisiana, MO and she survives.

Steve was a 1971 graduate of Pittsfield High School and in his earlier years worked at Ackles Orchard. He worked over 25 years for Electric Wheel, later known as Can-Am and Titan Wheel. Steve’s primary passion was hog and cattle farming throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed fishing, auctions, farm sales and antique tractors. Steve was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and was always a John Deere man. He could be ornery and set in his ways but was always his own person and loved to tell stories. Steve took great pride in his family and could always be counted on for a warm bear hug anytime he saw them. It gave him great satisfaction having his grandchildren helping him on the farm.

Steve is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn Reeder of Baylis, IL; daughter, Stephanie (Scot) Moore of Pittsfield, IL; eight grandchildren, Lisa (Justin) Pearson, Sarah (Adam) Andrew, Rebekah Mowen, Alexander ‘Kane’ Throne, Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Goodrich, Jackson Throne, Jonathon Moore and Madison Moore; brother, Douglas Reeder; sisters, Laurie (Tom) Branham and Becky Winner; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Maxine Stauffer; brother-in-law, Mike (Louise) Stauffer;  and his terrier, Sparky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyndle ‘Doc’ and Betty Reeder; daughter, Sandi Goodrich; brothers, William ‘Bill’ Reeder and Terry Reeder; and father-in-law, William 'Bill' Stauffer.

Funeral service will be held 6:00 PM, Friday, June 28, 2024, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation held prior to the service from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
