Shelley A. Curtis, age 71 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Pittsfield Manor. She was born September 16, 1954, in Peoria, IL to Everett Paul and Alice Ricks Fisher.
Shelley graduated from East Peoria Community High School and after graduation worked at a laundromat and roller rink. She moved to Pittsfield in 1983 and worked at Tate Cheese, Illini Community Hospital, Eastside Healthcare, Walmart and Dollar General. Shelley met Leon in 1985, and he became her lifelong partner and helped raise her children. She loved the holidays, and Christmas was her favorite. She loved to help with the Christmas Basket Program, volunteering at the thrift store, and attended Grace Baptist Church. Shelley loved to bake cookies and pies, especially during the holidays. She cherished time spent with her dad, children, and grandchildren. Shelley also enjoyed cross stitch, crochet, taking care of her flowers, and was an avid animal lover.
Shelley is survived by children, James Michael Curtis of Jacksonville, IL, Paul Phillip (Tina) Curtis of Pittsfield, IL, and Jennifer Jo Howard of Albion, IN; grandchildren, Caleb Howard, Elijah Howard, Gabriel Howard, Christopher Baxter, and Brady Curtis; great grandson, Jackson Shanks; siblings, Paul D. (Kim) Fisher of Ohio and Carrie (Suzanne) Radam of Florida; and lifelong partner, Francis Leon Deardeuff.
She was preceded in death by parents, Everett and Alice Fisher.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and no services will be held. Memorials are suggested to be made to Brady Curtis Educational Fund. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
