Sharon (Conkright) Watkins

Sharon Lee Watkins, age 82 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 6:25 AM at Eastside Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was surrounded by her loving daughter, Kimberly, daughter-in-law Polly, and sister Billie. She was born August 20, 1943, to William and Mattie (Baughman) Conkright in Pleasant Hill, IL. She married Glover Watkins on July 4, 1959, and to this union, four children were born.

She is survived by two daughters and a son, Kimberly (Jim) Shade, Steve (Polly) Watkins, and Jill (Jerry) Moore. Ten grandchildren, Jeremy (Laura) Shade, Christopher Shade, Steven (Shilo) Watkins, Zachary (Alicia) Watkins, Wyatt and Kyle Watkins, and Levi, Bryce, Jack, and Isabella Moore. Nine great-grandchildren, Jace and Luca Shade, Oliver Shade, Easton, Mona, and Stevie Watkins, and Cohen, Ava, and Riggs Watkins. Three sisters and one brother, Billie Sidwell, Sandra Janes, Kristy Watts, and Larry (Cheryl) Conkright. As well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mattie Conkright; infant son, Larry Watkins; three sisters, Joy Grable, Kaye Chitwood, and Cathy Acosta; and brother-in-law, Maurice Sidwell.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation held prior to the service from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Pittsfield West Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to be made to Pike County Ambulance Service or Pittsfield Fire Department.
