Sharon Luedde Obituary

Sharon Ann Luedde, age 77, of Springfield, MO passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Springfield Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Springfield, MO. Sharon was born July 10, 1946, in Bloomington, IL to John and Clara (Gilmore) Schroeder and was the youngest of 8 children. She married Arnold Lee Luedde on November 5, 1965, and he survives.

Over the years, Sharon worked for State Farm in Bloomington, IL followed by Central Soya and Arends & Sons in Gibson City, IL.  In 1981 the family moved to Pittsfield where she worked for Evans Real Estate. After enjoying many summer vacations in the Ozarks, in 1988, Arnold and Sharon became the owners of Rod ‘n Reel Resort in Camdenton, MO. During the 10 years that they ran the resort, she also worked full time for Evers and Company in Osage Beach. After a few more years at the lake, she and Arnold retired and moved down to the Springfield, MO area to be closer to their sons. Their family had always enjoyed RV camping, having seen almost all of the 50 states. Their biggest trip was taking their RV up thru Canada and down into Anchorage to spend several weeks at their son’s. Sharon always looked forward to spending time with her siblings and their families when they could all get together. She always enjoyed attending her granddaughters dance recitals and sporting events when they were young and then getting to know their “second set” of grandkids in Alaska, all the while wishing there weren’t so many miles between them. Before her health started to decline, she always loved getting together for an annual girl’s getaway with her longtime childhood friend, Caryl Kietzman. Planning their trips was half the fun!

She is survived by her husband Arnold; one daughter, Dawn Adams of Pittsfield, IL; two sons, Eric Luedde of Anchorage, AK and David (Stephani) Luedde of Strafford, MO; granddaughters, Ashley Bradley of Pittsfield, IL, Amber Adams of Alexandria, VA, McKaylie and Keasiya Luedde of Anchorage, AK; grandsons, Ethan and Xayden Luedde of Anchorage, AK; great-grandsons,  Frank and Jack Bohlman of Pittsfield, IL; one sister,  Betty Pearson of Mahomet, IL; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John William (Jack) Schroeder, Jr.; sisters, Clara (LaVonne) Riblet, Maurine Hartman, Janette Carter, Rachael Hartman, and Wanda Schroeder in infancy.
