Sandra S. (Schoonover) McDowell

Sandra S. McDowell, age 78, of Quincy, IL passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Barry Healthcare & Senior Living in Barry, IL. She was born January 22, 1945, in Quincy, IL to Clyde and Violet Bowman Schoonover.

Sandra was an LPN and spent time working at several area nursing homes including Sunset Homes in Quincy. She was a hardworking, loving and caring woman who will be remembered as a special caregiver to many. She enjoyed watching tv and was especially fond of old shows like Andy Griffeth. Sandra loved her many dogs over the years who she treated as family.

Sandra is survived by daughters, Charlotte Snow and Carla DeLonjay, both of Quincy, IL; four grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Violet Schoonover.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services at this time. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Chapel. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry is handling the arrangements.
