Russell Junior DeJaynes age, 84 of Pearl, IL passed away at his home Saturday, May 25, 2024. He was born on August 12, 1939, in Barry, IL to Herschel and Goldie (Sisk) DeJaynes. He first married Iva Dorothy Emerick and to this union three children were born. He then married Susan Baecht and to this union one child was born. He later married Reva Langley on February 14, 2015, in Jacksonville, IL and she survives.
Russell grew up in the Kinderhook area and then near Bedford. His family were livestock farmers so he learned how to work hard from an early age. He first drove a truck for the Tate Cheese Company and then worked at the Lorraine Cheese Factory. He did carpentry work for several years before going Richter Fertilizer which later became Nutrien Ag Solutions. Russell wore many hats at Richters as he was a jack of all trades. He gave them 38 years of his life and retired in 2010. He enjoyed cutting wood, planting a vegetable garden each year, and working on farm machinery. Russell liked to go out to eat, especially fish, long rides in the country and their trips to Branson. He could be somewhat of a jokester with friends and family, pulling their leg until it would almost come off. He was a member of the White Hall Pentecostal Church. Russell will be remembered for being a hard worker, but he loved his family big and always helped when he could. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Russell is survived by his wife, Reva; children Patricia (Jack) Curtis of Bluffs, IL, Russell Dale DeJaynes of Springfield, IL, Roger Lee (Janie) DeJaynes of Winchester, IL and Wesley Lee (Jennifer) DeJaynes of Pittsfield, IL; sixteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren; siblings, Marvin DeJaynes, Billy DeJaynes and Carolyn Rennecker; and several nieces and nephews survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wayne and David DeJaynes.
