Rose Thacker Obituary

Rose M. Thacker, age, 77 of Pittsfield, IL passed away on Monday May 5, 2025, at her home.  She was born on September 26, 1947, in Vienna, MO to Wade and Mary Ella (Lipcamon) Wagner.  She married Tom Thacker and he preceded her in death.

Rose graduated from Pittsfield High School and became a housewife, first living in the St. Charles, MO area and later moving to Georgia where she met Tom.  She also did secretarial work while living in Georgia.  Rose was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution organization and also enjoyed family genealogy.  She loved to travel, and especially liked time spent in the Florida Panhandle.  Rose loved to visit with family and friends.  She was a positive person who could build people up with her pleasant speaking voice which gave great comfort to someone struggling.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Rose is survived by her siblings, Marsha (Don) Kirby, Michael Wagner, Lynda Blacketer, and Vickie (Chris) Oller; nieces and nephews, Tom Ellison, Toni Dolbeare, Robin Blacketer, Quentin (Sarah) Wagner, Rose Wagner, Brook (Nolan) Longley, Stacy (Michael) Fearneyhough, Kevin (Amy) Swank, Tom Sumpter, Carla (Michael) Staten and Kathy (Donald) Gross; and numerous great nieces and nephews survive.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Tom; sister-in-law Susie Wagner and brother-in-law Robert Blacketer.  

Cremation rites have been accorded, and there will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.  Memorials are suggested to be made to the Summer Hill Cemetery Association or to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
