Rosalind Jean (Baer) Anstedt

Rosalind Jean Anstedt, age 80 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born April 9, 1946, in Peoria, IL to James H. and Harriett Lorraine Eades Baer. Rosalind married Donald G. Anstedt April 9, 1976, in Baylis, IL and he survives.

Rosalind graduated from Woodruff High School in 1963, and went to LPN school in Quincy, IL. After receiving her license, she worked for Illini Hospital, Dr. Barrow, Dr. Grote, and Dr. Johnson. At 56, Rosalind went back to school at UIS in Springfield and obtained her bachelor degree in Psychology and went to work at the Mental Health Counseling Center. She also worked for Pikeland Unit #10 as a teacher’s aide, which was her favorite job. Rosalind was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family; she helped to raise some of her grandchildren and was a huge influence on all of them. She loved to read, especially Danielle Steele novels, enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and crime shows, and took delight starting her days with her ‘Breakfast Club Bunch’. Rosalind will be remembered as a tolerant, fierce, selfless woman who truly was the glue that held her family together.

Rosalind is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald G. Anstedt of Pittsfield, IL; children, Chris (Vikki) Burbridge of Northlake, TX, Timothy ‘Jamie’ (Dawn) Burbridge of Brookline, NH, Patrick (Crissy) Anstedt of Quincy, IL, Megan Anstedt of Pittsfield, IL, and Aaron (Michelle Ruble) Anstedt of Pittsfield, IL; grandchildren, Brittany (Wayne) Donahoe, Nicole (Austin) Beck, Sarah (Patrick) Close, Emma Burbridge, Taylor Anstedt, Caden Anstedt, Kyndal Anstedt, KayLynn (Keaton) Holmes, Kylee-Ann (Adam) Scott, Brynna Smith, Cooper Smith, Rhemi Smith, Westley Anstedt, Sandra Anstedt, and James Anstedt; great grandchildren, Malachi, Camryn, Aasim, Morgan, Emery, Lillie, Theo, Augustine, and Nora; siblings, Krista (Larry) Livingston of Decatur, IL, Steven (Dianne) Baer of Fayetteville, AR, and Douglas (Debi) Baer of Edwards, IL; and nieces and nephews, Skylar Baer, Logan Baer, Rachel (Christopher) DeCarolis, Mary Beth Williams, and Gregory Stafford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and H. Lorraine Baer; daughter, Alinda Burbridge; and in-laws, Louis and Helen Anstedt.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation held prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Baylis Cemetery in Baylis, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.
