Ronnie R. Shriver, age 68, of Griggsville, IL passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, at his home. He was born September 28, 1957, in Bloomington, IL to George and Betty Stewart Shriver. Ronnie married Linda Able on October 24, 1981 in Bloomington, IL and she survives.
Ronnie attended Normal Community High School, before serving as a police officer for the city of Bloomington for 21 years retiring in 2014. Prior to his police duties, he was employed as a regional supervisor for Freedom Oil. Ronnie was a member of Milton Christian Church and First Assembly of God in Normal, IL where he served as a deacon for many years. He started the Power Prison Ministry and volunteered his time serving on missions around the world. Ronnie enjoyed fishing, particularly catfish, and in his younger years hunting rabbit, deer and pheasants. He could also be found watching westerns and taking in some target shooting. Ronnie was a proud grandpa who cherished every moment with his grandchildren.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Amanda Gale of Ft. Wayne, IN, Wesley (Laura) Shriver of Milton, IL, Jon Shriver of Griggsville, IL and Michael Russo of Gulfport, MS; and eleven grandchildren, Katharina, Zechariah, Amelia, Adalee, Azriel, Admiral, Annaliese, America, Ainsley, Savannah and Marcus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Randy Shriver; and one sister, Nancy Russo.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Harvest Fellowship AG, 135 E. Second St, El Paso, IL with burial at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Westfair Christian Academy, 1815 W. Lafayette, Jacksonville, IL 62650. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
