Ron B. Cawthon

Ron B. Cawthon, age 62, of Griggsville, IL passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.  He was born on December 17, 1961, in Pittsfield, IL to Wilbur and Florence L. (Fusselman) Cawthon.

Ron grew up in Griggsville, and went on to attend school in Pittsfield.  He worked at the Ackles Orchard in Griggsville for many years and then went on to work at Hoffmeister Welding.  Ron later enjoyed working on the farm alongside his brother, Joey.   In his spare time, he loved to work on his prized possession, his 1967 green Barracuda, which he was very proud of.  Some would call Ron a hermit, but he was just a very quiet, simple man that lived a simple life who always enjoyed visiting his neighbors and taking rides with Anthony.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ron is survived by three brothers, Joey (Rosie) Cawthon of Pittsfield, IL, Jesse Cawthon of Griggsville, IL, Terry (Lori) Cawthon of Quincy, IL; one sister, Dorothy (Ray) Silvey of Vandalia, MO; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews survive.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday November 12, 2024, at 2:00PM at the Bethel Cemetery in rural Griggsville, IL.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 12, 2024, at 12:00PM-1:30PM at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL.  Memorials are suggested to be made to the Bethel Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL is handling the arrangements.
