Robert 'Bob' John Eddington

Robert ‘Bob’ John Eddington, age 88, of Pearl, IL passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at home surrounded by family. He was born July 26, 1934, in Colchester, IL to Orville Roy and Mary Enid Vance Eddington. Bob married Bonnie Ann Carson June 1, 1959, at the Bethel Baptist Church and she survives.

Bob was a graduate of Plymouth High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He went on to serve in the Army Reserves from 1955 to 1960. Bob worked as a bridge tender on the railroad for 25 years and was a lifelong cattle and hog farmer. He also had an apple orchard and enjoyed growing and selling his bountiful crop. Bob loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. In early years, he was a member Nebo Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. Bob later became a member of the Pittsfield Assembly of God Church; he was a faithful man who deeply loved God and his family.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Bonnie Eddington; three children, Tammy Ann (James) Jorgenson of Griggsville, IL, Timothy L. (Laurel) Eddington of Bremerten, WA and Terry L. (Crystal) Eddington of Pittsfield, IL; nine grandchildren, Jarrod Harshman, Jericho Hardin, Edward Crabtree, Matthew Jorgenson, Dustin Perry, Daniel Jorgenson, Juan Jorgenson, Brittni Hill and Hannah Eddington; and seventeen great grandchildren, Casey Crabtree, Owen Crabtree, Alyssa Crabtree, Tabitha Crabtree, Ashlyn Jorgenson, Harper Jorgenson, Riley White, Lane White, Nathan Perry, Lukas Jorgenson, Macie Hill, Maggie Hill, Quaid Tedrow, Finley Tedrow, Damian Bean, Domanic Bean and Dylan Bean.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Mary Eddington; sister, Betty Lee Clemons; and twin great grandsons, Alden and Blane Brannan.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the Pittsfield Assembly of God Church with visitation held prior to the service at the church from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Green Pond Cemetery near Pearl, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
