Robert E. Wood

Robert ‘Bob’ E. Wood, age 84, of Pittsfield, IL passed away on Tuesday July 18, 2023, at the Pittsfield Manor.  Bob was born on March 15, 1939, to Kermit and Mae McGlasson Wood in Pittsfield, IL.  He married Sandra Durbin on January 2, 1962, at his sister Nora’s home and she survives. 

Bob worked for the Pittsfield City Water Department for 24 years.  After he retired he went to work at Ayerco with his wife to keep busy.  They both retired many years later.  Bob had an impeccable work ethic and passed this on to his family.  His hobby was his family and spending time with them.   He dedicated his entire life to his family and loved every minute of it.  Bob was proud to be a Mason and was a 53 year member with the Pittsfield Masonic Lodge # 790 A.F. & A.M.    He will be remembered as a kindhearted man who always found the positive and never talked ill of anyone. 

Bob is survived by his loving wife of  61 years Sandy; two daughters, Roberta (Matt) Grawe of Pittsfield, IL and Debbie (Tim) Kreutztrager of Roxana, IL; eight grandchildren, Amy Fulton, Luke (Mikayla) Grawe, Jessie Grawe, Katie Kreutztrager, Sara  Kreutztrager,  Jesse Fulton, Missy Escoffier, and Bobby Escoffier; four great-grandchildren, Brett Ator, Jake Ator,  Rylynn  Grawe, and Gavin Grawe; one sister Nora Renoud of rural Pittsfield, IL and several nieces and nephews survive. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Wally Renoud.

Services will be private. Interment will be at the Nebo Cemetery in Nebo, IL.  Memorial contributions may be made to Pike County Animal Shelter.  Online condolences may be left at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
