Richard ‘Rich’ B. Taylor, age, 50 of Summer Hill, IL passed away suddenly at his home in Summer Hill on Thursday September 11, 2025. He was born on April 30, 1975, in Springfield, IL to Robert and Shirley (Guffey) Taylor.
Rich was a 1994 graduate of Pittsfield High School. After graduation he joined the work force and held several jobs throughout his adult years.
Rich was one of a kind. He didn’t know a stranger and could carry on a conversation with anyone about anything. He loved to talk. Rich was a hard worker and also a very dependable dad, friend, brother, and uncle. He had a passion for muscle cars, the classic ones, and he owned a few over the years. He also enjoyed riding ATV’s, motorcycles and boating. Rich liked to socialize with his friends whether it was in person or talking on the phone. He had a very big heart; he was the type of guy that would do anything for anybody if they needed help and he didn’t ask or expect anything in return. He had a big, loud, contagious laugh. Sometimes his laugh was funnier than the story or joke that was told.
Rich is survived by his daughter, Darcy; two sons, Andrew Taylor and Zack Taylor all of Quincy, IL; one sister Deborah (Brian) Schlieper; several nieces and nephew; and he had many great friends who loved him dearly and will forever miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Shirley Taylor and one sister Connie Taylor.
There will be no services at this time. Memorials are suggested to be made to the Niebur Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
