Richard “Ricky” B. Dillinger, 56 of Hunnewell, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Missouri. He was born on June 4, 1967, in Quincy, Illinois, to Tom B. Dillinger and Stephanie ‘Steve” L. Dochterman. He married Gay Y. Davidson on October 28, 2000, in Barry, Illinois, and she survives.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. Ricky was a 1985 graduate of Quincy Senior High. He lived and worked in Quincy most of his life, until moving to Barry in 1999. Ricky went to work for Jones Poultry in Barry, Illinois, in 2006 as a custodian, and this year was forced to end his working career after an injury.
He is survived by a son, Jonathan B. Dillinger of Monticello, Missouri; a daughter, Jessica L. (Charles) Howard, of Monticello, Missouri; 3 stepchildren, Kim L. Atkinson, Michael C. (Sheena) Atkinson of Rural Retreat, Virginia, Jessica R. (Nathan) Daugherty of Goodman, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, Carson Howard, Jayden Howard, Tristen Howard; 9 step-grandchildren, Karley, Kiersten, Maykala, Kaiden, Krio, Kinli, Zachary, Garrett, Tucker; a brother, Tommy D. (Jeannetta) Dillinger of Florissant, Missouri; 3 aunts, Pat Delker, Kathy Dochterman, Lisa Trone of Quincy; 2 uncles, Steven (Patty Spillman) Dillinger of Ursa, Illinois and Ronald Dillinger of Quincy; 3 nieces, Shaila (Erik) Junge of St. Clair, Missouri, Nicole Gebel of Sullivan, Missouri; Braden (Christopher) Edwards of Florissant, Missouri; and several great-nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends that survive.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held on 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, Illinois.
