Rebecca Lynn ‘Becky’ McIntire, age 64, of Pittsfield, IL passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born February 11, 1960, in Louisiana, MO to Lyndell and Ima Jean (Applegate) Scott. Becky married Richard McIntire August 30, 1997, in Bowling Green, MO and he survives.
Becky grew up in Bowling Green, MO and graduated from Bowling Green High School. She was a travel agent for AAA in Hannibal, MO and later received an associate degree from John Wood Community College. She then became a paraprofessional and librarian at Pikeland Unit 10 until her health kept her from working. Becky attended Independence Christian Church, was a Girl Scout leader, and enjoyed researching family genealogy. She was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles, taking walks, listening to country and rock music, line-dancing, and sewing, she especially took delight in making baby quilts. Becky was very family oriented; she was a caring and kind mother and wife who loved going to movies with Caitlyn and always enjoyed her husband’s cooking, especially pancakes and biscuits and gravy. She loved her family fiercely and will be deeply missed by all.
Becky is survived by her mother, Ima Jean Scott of Griggsville, IL; loving husband of 27 years, Richard McIntire of Pittsfield, IL; daughter, Caitlyn McIntire of Springfield, IL; in-laws, Glenda McIntire, Elaine (John) Guthrie, Barbara McIntire, and Herschel (Jenny) Carter; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive; and her beloved fur-grandbaby, Celeste.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lyndell Scott; brother, Frankie Scott; in-laws, Harry and Helen McIntire; brother-in-law, Albert McIntire, and sister-in-law, Carol Carter.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, November 1, 2024, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation held prior to the service from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Green Pond Cemetery in Pearl, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to Independence Christian Church or Pittsfield Public Library.
