Peggy Jo (Wade) Elledge

Peggy Jo Elledge, age 70 of Griggsville, IL passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, IL. She was born May 11, 1955, in Pittsfield, IL to Arthur and Jessie Maxine Lidgard Wade. Peggy married Rocklin Elledge September 18, 1987, at the Perry United Methodist Church and he survives.

Peggy was a 1973 graduate of Griggsville High School and then attended Gem City College where she received her secretarial certificate. Over the years she worked at the Pittsfield DCFS office, Griggsville Vet Clinic, United Feeds, Griggsville Nature House until their closing, at the Griggsville School as a head cook, and Springfield Clinic as a receptionist until her retirement. Peggy attended both the Griggsville United Methodist Church and Chambersburg Christian Church. In her spare time, Peggy liked to sew, enjoyed talking to her girlfriends every day, playing cards, going out to eat and cherished game nights with family and friends. Family was very important to her, and she took delight in cooking for them, never needing a recipe, and always making each member their favorite dish. She was a loving and loyal woman who will be remembered as friendly, outgoing, and someone who never knew a stranger.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Rocky Elledge; children, Ethan Wade (Jodi Gorton) Elledge of Barry, IL, Jeremy Ryan (Jackie) Elledge of Florida, and Charity Marie (Michael) Ingram of Sidell, LA; grandchildren, Janson Gorton, Rikki Ann Elledge, Hayden Elledge, Gunner Elledge, Kaycilee Elledge, Kenzie Mahler, and Natalia Finnelli; brothers-in-law, Rex Elledge and Ryan Elledge; and sisters-in-law, Roxann (Brian) Risley and Reca (Kevin) Risley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Wade and Jessie Wade Edwards.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, December 20, 2025, with visitation held prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Griggsville Cemetery in Griggsville, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to Griggsville Cemetery.
