Patsy Ann Garrett, age, 82, of Chillicothe, IL formally of Barry, IL passed away on Saturday February 1, 2025, at the home of her daughter Cora. She was born on April 1, 1942, in Brunswick, Maryland. Patsy married Wayne Garrett on June 29, 1957, and he preceded her in death on February 2, 1996.
Patsy spent her childhood in Maryland where she attended school. Her grandad raised her and her siblings. She got married at an early age and when Wayne was discharged from the service, they moved their family to Griggsville, IL. Patsy and Wayne sold Miracle Made Pans, promoting them by performing cooking shows. She later worked at the Cruttenden Apple Orchard and then the Brown Shoe Factory. Patsy then found the job she loved most, working as a caregiver for Pike County Community Care. She was a wonderful caregiver and had a passion for serving and helping others. She loved to cook and bake, always making sure family and visitors were fed well. Patsy loved to keep her house tidy and enjoyed doing laundry and washing dishes. She loved listening to polka, Elvis, Patsy Cline and older country music. She was always ready for a trip to Branson where she would see her favorites, including The Presley’s and Daniel O’Donnell. Listening to Branson family music became soothing to her soul in the last few years. She was always happiest when her family was present and enjoyed playing bingo with her grandkids. Patsy was a loving, hardworking woman that gave the best hugs. She will be missed by all who knew her.
