Patricia Ann Sapp, age 69, of Rockport, IL passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. She was born on December 3, 1952 in Carrollton, IL to Elza Henry and Genevieve Herter Kuck. Patty married Danny Joe Sapp on June 24, 1972 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and he survives.
She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1971, and went on to attend Gem City Business College. Patty worked alongside her husband as the co-owner of Sapp Diesel & Welding. She loved mushroom hunting, bird watching, enjoyed nature and animals; she also loved stained glass, auctions and yard sales. She was of Christian faith and was a hardworking, loving woman who loved her family dearly.
Patty is survived by her son, Scott Douglas Sapp of Atlas, IL; daughter, Laura Jean (John) Plenge of Kahoka, MO; three grandchildren, Natalie (Elijah) Cooley, Nicole Plenge and Luke Plenge; brother, John Kuck of Tulsa, OK; sister, Judy Benz of Kampsville, IL; aunt, Velma Herter of Golden Eagle, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elza and Genevieve Kuck; brother, David Kuck; brother-in-law, Lester Benz, and in-laws, Logan Vencil and Vera Sapp.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home with visitation prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Calhoun County, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to Hillcrest Cemetery.
