Patricia L. Nichol, age 94, of Pittsfield, IL passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, peacefully at her home. She was born February 25, 1929, in Sistersville, West Virginia to Rex and Marjorie Lockhart. Pat married George D. Nichol in April 1955 and he preceded her in death October 30, 2000.
Pat grew up and graduated high school in West Virginia. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Marshall University in Huntington, WV and became a Registered Dietician. Pat completed her internship at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and this is where she met her husband, George. They later moved to Pittsfield and raised their family. She worked as a Dietician at the hospital in Louisiana, MO and also at Illini Hospital in Pittsfield. Pat also did consulting for other area hospitals and nursing homes. She and George owned the Dari Ripple in Pittsfield for over 20 years. In early years, Pat spent summers at the family cabin on Tomahawk Lake in Minocqua, WI throughout her life, and enjoyed making memories with her family. She was an avid bridge player, member of Pittsfield United Methodist Church and Old Orchard Country Club, becoming a member of OOCC Dinner Club in later years. Pat enjoyed reading and the partaking of a good Old Fashioned or martini while visiting with friends and family. She was a pleasant, fun-loving lady with an upbeat attitude who will be dearly missed.
Pat is survived by son, Ross Nichol of Springfield, IL; daughters, Jane (Bruce Scott) Nichol-Mudd of Pittsfield, IL and Sally (Glen) Sexton of Tomball, TX; grandchildren, Lexi Nichol, Natalie Sexton and Lizzy Sexton; brother, Thomas (Jan) Lockhart; and sister, Sue Russell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents, Rex and Marjorie Lockhart; and brother, Robert Lockhart.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, December 22, 2023, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation held prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to be made to Meals on Wheels. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
