Norma Corine (Petri) Sigler

Norma Corine Sigler, age 82, of Barry, IL, passed away May 27, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.  She was born on September 8, 1942, to Otto and Catherine (Dunmire) Petri, in Versailles, IL.  She first married Robert Hubbard and to their union a daughter was born.  She later married John Sigler on May 23, 1981, in Barry, IL and he preceded her in death. 

Norma graduated from Brown County High School in 1960.  She started raising her family and also worked several retail part time jobs over the years.  After marrying John, she worked in the apple orchard and also raised peaches at one time. 

Norma loved to dance, taking lessons in Barry with her daughter and was involved in several recitals.  She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano.  In recent years, she starred in TikTok and Facebook videos with her son-in-law, Mark, called, “Driving Miss Norma”, and was quite the storyteller.  She loved going to the boat and her kitty, Fluffy. She was a member of LaGrange Chapel and also attended First Baptist Church in Barry, IL.  She was a lot of fun and always ready to go- especially out to eat! She was loving, caring and extremely stubborn.  Norma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by; her daughter, Tonya (Mark) Hickerson of Hannibal, MO; stepchildren, Robert (Kim) Sigler of Barry, IL, Carolyn (Mike) Cassady of Quincy, IL, and Kathy Fitch (Larry) of Rockport, IL; sister, Esther (Butch) Crook of Mt. Sterling, IL; several step grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by; her parents, Otto and Catherine; husband, John Sigler; son, David Sigler; sisters, Alma VanHyning, Sally Petri, and Emma Petri; and brothers, Henry Petri, and Johnny Petri.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with visitation held prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL. Interment to follow service at Parklawn Cemetery in Barry, IL.
