Nancy Ann Bower, 83, of Plainville, IL went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2025, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. She was born on March 3, 1942, in Hannibal, MO to Edward and Charlotte Hoffman. She was married to Neil Bower until his death in 1987. She was later married to Warren Dale "Doc" Lawson until his death in 2014.
Nancy enjoyed a simple life, spending most days managing the family’s Centennial farms trying to instill the love of nature and soil conservation to future generations. She was always outside. Her day started and ended with taking care of her beloved pets. Over her lifetime, some of her favorite pets included guineas, geese, cats, dogs, sheep, cattle and Morgan horses. She loved taking her horses on trail rides, shows, parades and to demonstrations to share her beautiful horses with others. She cherished time spent with her best friends and church family.
She is survived by one sister, Arlene Martin of Hannibal, MO; daughter, Beth Ann Bower; daughter-in-law, Cathy Codd Bower; grandchildren, Michael (Helen) Bower, Michelle (Elias) Granadillo and Amanda (Bruce) Nieders; as well as multiple great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Charlotte Hoffman; and son, Jeffrey Neil Bower in 2025.
According to her wishes, there will be no services. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry is handling the arrangements.
