Monica Wilcox

Monica Wilcox, age 65, of Griggsville, IL passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. She was born in Springfield, IL December 23, 1958. Monica married John ‘J.D.’Wilcox August 1, 1992, in Griggsville, IL and he survives.

Monica worked at Tate Cheese and as a housekeeper for Pike County Housing Authority and Griggsville Post Office. Monica loved her grandchildren and would often tease and pick on them in jest. She enjoyed reading and playing games on her tablet and was a pet lover of her dogs and guinea pigs. Monica had a loud and boisterous voice and a bit of a stubborn streak and will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Monica is survived by her husband of 32 years, J.D. Wilcox; daughters, Nichole (Joshua) Fox, Leslie (Michael) Fleming and Kimberly (Nick Nance) Wilcox; grandchildren, Breanna Fox, Leather Hill, Kale Hill, Emma Fox, Zachary Fleming, Korbin Fleming, Wrigley Fleming and Maelynne Fleming; and family friends, Fred and Sharon Slight.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and there will be a Celebration of Life from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Griggsville Park in Griggsville, IL.
