Michael E. Forslund

Michael Edward Forslund was born June 27, 1952, in Longview, Washington, the second of 3 children of Nadine England Forslund and Lavern Forslund.  Siblings included Patricia and James.  He attended R.A. Long High School, graduating in 1970.  He was honorably discharged after serving 3 years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.  He later worked in the music industry in California and at various positions in the Northwest.  Due to ill health, he relocated to Quincy, Illinois in 2022 to live with his sister and brother-in-law.

Michael was independent spirit with a great sense of humor who loved his family and friends.  He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed collecting coins and sports cards.  He enjoyed reading the Longview Daily News each day and was a life-long Democrat.  He loved going to the beach with his sister, brother in-law, nieces and nephews.  He loved children and his many dog and cat companions over the years.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Hubbard and her husband, John of Quincy, formerly of Barry, nieces Laura Hubbard (John Gaiosa) and Juliet Hubbard and nephew John Hubbard (Joline) all of Quincy, as well as nieces and nephews, whom he loved.  Donations in memory of Michael are suggested to Wounded Warriors or another organization supporting disabled Veterans or any animal rescue organization.

Cremation rites have been accorded per Michael’s wishes and all services will be private.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home in Barry, IL will be handling the arrangements.
