Melissa 'Missy' A. (Cull) Borrowman

Melissa A. Borrowman, age 71 of Pittsfield, IL passed away peacefully Sunday, November 23, 2025, surrounded by family at Liberty Village in Pittsfield, IL. She was born January 11, 1954, in Pittsfield, IL to Jon Robert and Erma (Main) Cull.

Missy was well known in the community and didn’t know a stranger. She was the go-to for many friends and family if they wanted to know who someone was and who they were related to. Missy graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1972 and had a life full of career adventures ranging from being a licensed real-estate agent and EMT to working at the Pike Press and Illini Vet Service, and she served as Pike County Treasurer for one term. However, her favorite jobs were owning the Dari Ripple through most of the 90s and into the 2000s and doing nails at her home in Quail Ridge. Missy loved spending time with her grandchildren, friends and family. She especially loved to travel and spend time at her condo at the Lake of the Ozarks. Missy loved her church, The First Christian Church with Pastor Michael Ten Eyck and family who were her neighbors. When she was no longer able to attend in person, she would watch services in her home every Sunday morning.

Missy is survived by two sons, Jon (Dr. Jessica) Borrowman and Dustin (Jessica) Borrowman; two sisters, Angela Littrell and Sarah (JC) Barker; six grandchildren, Logan, Frank, Finley, Olivia, Calvin, and Declan Borrowman; two step-grandchildren, Dorothy and Logan Boehmer; and stepmother, Linda Cull.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jon Robert ‘Bob’ Cull; mother, Erma Main Bethard; and stepfather, Oral Bethard.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 28, 2025, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation held prior to the service from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Pittsfield West Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to be made to Pittsfield West Cemetery. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
