Max Myers Obituary

Max Myers, age 75, of Pittsfield, IL and formerly of Chambersburg, IL passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. He was born October 11, 1950, in Quincy, IL to Dale F. and Theresa Walker Myers. He married the love of his life, Mary Paulsen, December 12, 1970, at the Church of Christ in Moline, IL and she survives.

Max graduated from Meredosia Chambersburg High School in 1968 and attended Western Illinois University. He worked at National Starch and Chemical Co. for many years, was one of the managers at Curtis Creek in Quincy, IL, and office supervisor for Liberty Tax Service in Pittsfield, IL. Above all he tried to follow Christ. He was baptized into the church in August 1970 and served the church in many capacities during his lifetime, including being on the board of Tri-State Christian Youth Camp. He loved farming and was blessed to be able to farm many years with his best friend and father Dale.

Max is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Myers; sons, Mark (Jennifer) Myers of Davenport, IA and Matthew Myers of Pittsfield, IL; granddaughters, Taylor Delk of Dixon, TN and Macayla Myers of Plainfield, IL; grandsons, Zachary Myers of Tempe, AZ and Brandon Myers of Davenport, IA; brother, Carl (Connie) Myers of Perry, IL; brothers-in-law, John (Kathy) Paulsen, Mike (Joe Olaf) Paulsen, Tom Paulsen, Steven Paulsen, and Dennis (Grace) Paulsen; sister-in-law, Marika Ray; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Theresa Myers; sister, Marylyn Smith; sisters-in-law, Teresa Myers and Sally Paulsen; brothers-in-law, Fred Smith and Daniel Paulsen; and niece, Melanie Smith.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL with visitation held prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Perry McCord Cemetery in Perry, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to Barry Church of Christ or Tri-State Christian Youth Camp.
