Mary Lee Doyle, age 79, of Pittsfield, IL passed away on Thursday August 1, 2024, at the Eastside Healthcare. She was born on March 30, 1945, in Pittsfield, IL to Frank and Helen Mae Lawson Wade. She married Kyle Doyle, and he passed away on July 28, 1981.
Mary attended Tollgate, Detroit, and Higbee schools before graduating from Pittsfield High School. She was a member of the Florence Methodist Church since the age of three. She was very faithful to her church and never missed a Sunday for over 38 years. Mary helped with the choir and taught Sunday School and assisted with the Christmas programs. Mary started her working career as a waitress at several local restaurants including Singing Hills, Kee-La-Su and Abe Lincoln Inn. She then went on to clean the office of Dr. Shulman and Dr. Bailis as well as other private residences before becoming a nanny. Mary liked to go to yard sales and especially loved to shop for new clothes. She never sat idle for too long and was always ready to go. She enjoyed country music and in earlier years her and Kyle saw Elvis Presley, Dolly Pardon, Porter Wagner and got to see Wayne Newton on his birthday. These were very special memories for her.
Mary is survived by one daughter Brenda (Tim) Pryor; one brother Michael Wade and one sister Patricia Wade; several grandchildren and great grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kyle, one son Jim Doyle and one brother Donnie Wade.
Services will be held on Tuesday August 6, 2024, at 1:00PM at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL. Visitation will be from 12:00PM-1:00PM prior to the service. Interment will be at Blue River Cemetery in Detroit, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the Blue River Cemetery. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
