Marta E. (Bradshaw) Bredeweg

Marta Ellen Bredeweg, age 64, of Pittsfield, IL and formerly of Naperville, IL passed away Friday, June 24, 2022, at Pittsfield Manor in Pittsfield, IL. She was born August 8, 1957, in Quincy, IL to Delmar Jerome and Starr Elaine Williams Bradshaw. She married Doug Bredeweg and together they welcomed two children.

Marta grew up in Quincy and graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 1975. She moved to Naperville and attended College of DuPage Nursing School in Wheaton, IL where she became a Registered Nurse. She worked at Edwards Hospital and then went on to work in the home healthcare industry for many years before becoming a school nurse. Marta was an avid health nut who enjoyed body building and ran a triathlon. She was involved with her church and ran in many 5K’s and other races with fellow church members. Marta was a giving soul who helped prepare meals for others and helped with the homeless delivering food and other supplies to those in need. She loved to travel with her mother and enjoyed reading. Marta was a loving, energetic and caring woman who gave of herself and her time. She was truly a good and faithful servant.

Marta is survived by her mother, Starr Gold; children, David (Cosette) Bredeweg of Michigan and Chadwick Bredeweg of Aurora, IL; brothers, David (Paula) Bradshaw of Mendon, IL and Bruce Bradshaw of Quincy, IL; sisters, Joyce Hamann of Riverside, OH, Robin (Roger) Snider of Quincy, IL and Manya Dierks of Quincy, IL; and several aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her father, Delmar Bradshaw; grandparents, Robert and Hazel Williams and Goldie and Thomas Bradshaw; and two nephews.

Graveside service will be held Friday, July 1, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to Blessing Hospice or NAA (National Aphasia Association).  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
