Marsha ‘Spunky’ Miller, age 76, of Pittsfield, IL passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO. She was born June 20, 1945 in Litchfield, IL to Fred and Ruby Martin Dively. Marsha married Robert ‘Bob’ Miller on August 21, 1998 and he preceded her in death on July 5, 2006.
Spunky attended Pittsfield High School and she first married Tom Melton and to this union, Tommy and Bobby were born. She later married Bob Miller from Centralia, MO. Throughout her life she was a clerical and office manager in various locations, including AG Edwards in Springfield and Columbia, MO, Boone County Highway Department and in her early years she worked at Pike County Courthouse for Austin Altizer. Later in life she became a caretaker for many elderly people in the area. Spunky was very social and always enjoyed good conversation. Her circle of friends was huge and she was always ready to go to coffee, lunch or out to dinner. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and also had a love for fur babies, having several over the years, but her special Louie survives her. She lived true to her nickname, Spunky…she was always ready to go and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by son, Bobby (Angela) Melton of Houma, LA; six grandchildren, Ryan Melton, Loren Melton, Anna Melton, Laken Fesler, Kyleah Kuntz, and Tory Bradshaw; six great-grandchildren, Nash Piper, Oakley Fesler, Knox Fesler, Rhoni Edwards, Maysen Moss, Trae Smith; and sisters, Pattie Flora of Florida and Shelley (Mac) Arnold of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Dively and Ruby Dively Niebur; son, Tommy Melton; husband, Bob Miller; sister, Rita Saathoff; and stepfather, Phil Niebur.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 4:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation being held prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to be made to Pike County Animal Shelter or Camp Callahan. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
