Mark D. Lynch

Mark D. Lynch, age 65 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield. He was born April 8, 1960, in Quincy, IL to Marvin and Lois Gratton Lynch. Mark married Vickie Lowe February 17, 1994, in Pittsfield, IL and she survives.

Mark was born and raised in Pike County. Over the years, he farmed for the Gleckler family, worked for Tate Cheese, and was a plumber’s apprentice at Ideal Hardware. Mark also received his HVAC certification and later had to retire after becoming disabled. Mark was an avid fisherman and a competitive mushroom hunter with Ronnie and the grandkids. He enjoyed family cookouts and was a wonderful cook who specialized in cooking snapping turtle! Mark also cooked for several benefits and for the team sorting events. He faithfully put in a vegetable garden each year and canned his bountiful harvest. Mark loved his canine companions, Harley and Sophia. He will be remembered as a smart, loving, quiet man who cared deeply for his family and he will be dearly missed by all.

Mark is survived by his wife, Vickie Lynch of Pittsfield, IL; daughter, Sarah (Bruce) Gunder of Pittsfield, IL; son, Kenny (Brittany Norris) Lowe of Pittsfield, IL; grandchildren, Cody (Haylee) Gunder, Nathan Gunder, Kaylee Gunder, Raydon Lowe, Briar Lowe, and Kolt Lowe; great grandchildren, Weston Gunder, Asher Gunder, and Novaleigh Gunder; brothers, Marvin Lynch and Mike (Carol) Lynch; sisters, Marilyn Caldwell, Carolyn Colston, Brenda (Richard) Mountain, and Julie (James) McDonald; sister-in-law, Jeanna Lynch; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Lois Lynch; brother, Ronnie Lynch; and in-laws, Benny Caldwell and Butch Colston.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Jaycee Park at Lake Pittsfield.
