Marcia Kaye Schimpf, age 65, of Rochester, IL passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, in Chambersburg, IL. She was born October 18, 1958, in Pittsfield, IL to Wayne and Barbara Lee DeSpain Chenoweth.
Marcia graduated from Perry High School in 1976 and went on to attend Patricia Stevens finishing school in St. Louis. She was co-owner of Merle Norman cosmetics with her sister, Brenda Mountain in 1978. Over the years, she was a wonderful nail tech, cooked at the Red Dome, cleaned for Pine Lakes, stocked for Anheuser Busch, and worked at Walmart for over 10 years before retiring to become a stay-at-home grandma to Ashton. Marcia was the epitome of a mom and grandma and spending time with them meant the world to her. Marcia was a member of Assembly of God Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to concerts, driving her convertible with Shay, walking her grand dogs and loved the St. Louis Cardinals. She was a hardworking woman who always provided for her family. She was strong and opinionated but loved everyone and never knew a stranger.
Marcia is survived by her parents, Wayne and Barbara Chenoweth; son, Cagney (Ciara) Schimpf of Pittsfield, IL; daughter, Chyna (Korey) Weyant of Rochester, IL; grandchildren, Jaelynn Schimpf, Ava Schimpf, Summer Kimber, Harper Schimpf, Ashton Weyant, Gabbi Weyant, Jarrett Weyant, E.J. Weyant, Kyzer Weyant and Carlen Graham; brother, David (Susan) Chenoweth; sister, Brenda Mountain; aunts and uncles, Gary and Jean DeSpain and Ronnie DeSpain; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; brother-in-law, John Mountain; uncle, Larry DeSpain; and aunt, Betty (Homer) Allen.
Funeral service will be held at 4:30 PM, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation held prior to the service from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded and private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.
