Mable A. (Kindle) Walker

Mable Ann Walker, age 91, of rural New Canton, IL passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born on July 9, 1930, in Pleasant Vale Township to George and Dollie Shade Kindle.  She married Gerald Walker on May 17, 1967, and he preceded her in death on September 6, 1976.

Mable attended country school and went on to work for Stark Brothers Nursery for over 28 years, retiring in 1992.  After retiring, she stayed home to take care of her grandchildren.  Family meant everything to Mable, and she really enjoyed being with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.  She also enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, and bird and squirrel watching.  She liked picking berries, cooking, baking pies and cobblers, and canning vegetables and berries.  She also loved taking care of her chickens, going to rodeos, and eating anything sweet.  Mable was a loving and caring woman.  She was very down to earth and lived for her family.  She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Jill Hays) Walker Coleman of Hannibal, MO and Dollie Walker Sexton of New Canton, IL; five grandchildren, Tyler Walker of Griggsville, IL, James (Lindsey) Coleman III of Divernon, IL, Kristina (Michael) Bush of Auburn, IL, Kelsey Walker of Memphis, TN, and Jake Sexton of New Canton, IL; five great grandchildren, Benjamin Bush, Cayley Bush, Delilah Bush, James Coleman IV, and Wyatt Brooks Coleman; sister-in-law, Virginia Kindle of Barry, IL; stepchildren, Junior and Joanna Walker, Twila and Gene Smith, John and Rosemary Walker, Janice Walker, and Dixie Walker; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dollie Kindle; husband, Gerald Walker; great granddaughter, Alayna Bush; brother, Ray Kindle; four sisters, Lula Robinson, Mary Hathaway, Virginia Winner, and Gladys Dunham; and stepchildren, Owen and Connie Walker, Lyle Walker, Della Minear, Minnie Hively, and Donnie Walker.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  Interment will follow at Samuel Taylor Cemetery near Rockport.  Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
