Lou Ann Carlen

Lou Ann Carlen, age 61, of Hull IL. passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022. She was born March 31, 1960 to Lawrence 'Pat' and Dora Nadine (Lewton) Carlen in Hannibal, MO. She had a long-time partner, Michael Moore, and he survives.

Lou Ann attended West Pike Schools and graduated from West Pike High School in 1978. After graduation, she went on to nursing school and received her LPN license. She then started working at the nursing home in Hannibal, MO.  Later, she worked for Dr. Hevel and Dr. Bartlett at Hannibal Clinic, where she was due to retire in February after 28 years of service.

Lou Ann enjoyed making Christmas wreaths, fishing, having a good beer while playing the slot machines, camping on the Mississippi river at their camp, looking for deer on a country drive, mushroom hunting, and being outside.  She is known for calling Josh’s friends as “sons” and showing her loving and caring nature. Even in pain, she always had a smile on her face. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her long-time partner of 28+ years, Michael Moore of Hull, IL; son, Joshua Bramblett of Hull, IL; a brother, Conrad “Connie” Carlen of Hannibal, MO; a sister, Dora Jane Keith of Hannibal, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

Lou Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Dora Nadine Carlen; and brother, Wendall Carlen.
