Leona L. Ralph, 90, of Rockport, IL passed peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the home of her eldest daughter, where she had resided happily in her final years. Leona spent her last days surrounded by loving family, and her favorite musical clock chimed a tune at the stroke of noon as she passed away.
Leona was born October 13, 1933, in Nebo, IL to Edward and Opal Smith Crossman. She was married to Charles H. Ralph on October 18, 1952. Together, they had three daughters, and were married over sixty years, until Charles preceded her in death in July 2017.
Leona was a full-time mother and homemaker, who also enjoyed working doing sewing and alterations for many people throughout Pike County. She was a fabulous cook, who passed on many beloved recipes to her family, along with her love of reading, crafting and sewing. Leona was an avid fan of yard sales and loved collecting vintage items and antiques that she crafted and styled around her home. Of course, her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving matriarch who will be dearly missed.
Leona is survived by her three daughters, Vicki Norvell of Louisiana, Karen (Paul) Powell of Bowling Green and Lori Tittsworth; grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Harshman, Shawn Harshman, Darin (Jefflyn) Harshman, Erica Davis, Laci (Mitchell) Jakab and Leah (Bryson) Wilbanks; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Campbell, Brianna Campbell, Landon Harshman, Ben Reithmeier, Emily Harshman, Emma Reithmeier, Caliber Schindler, Remi Jakab, Madi Jakab and Jacob Harshman; and many nieces and nephews.
Leona was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Opal Crossman; her husband of 64 years, Charles Ralph; sons-in-law, Donnie Harshman and George Norvell; brothers, Kyle and Neal Crossman; sisters, Alberta Price, Vaneda Crossman, Waneda Myers and Wanda Grammer; as well as several in-laws, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
There will be a family gathering for a private interment held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to be made to the Community Loving Care Hospice of Bowling Green, MO. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
