Laura 'Lollie' (Sewell) O'Neill

Laura ‘Lollie’ O’Neill, age 85, of Pittsfield, IL passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at her home in Pittsfield. Laura was born December 14, 1938, in Orlando, FL to Charles and Marjorie Watson Sewell. Lollie married Richard Ruble and to this union three children were born, and he preceded her in death October 24, 1993. She later married George O’Neill and he preceded her in death October 4, 2022.

Lollie worked at Brown Shoe Factory, Ben Franklin and later retired from Walmart in Pittsfield. In her early years, she and Richard enjoyed camping with their family and trips to Las Vegas. She loved to make crafts and enjoyed gardening, embroidery and sewing. She took delight in cooking meals for her family and hosting family gatherings. Lollie was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who was proud of her family. Lollie attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church with her husband, George. They also enjoyed making coffee tables together, she would place the tiles and he would help her with the final touches. Lollie was a hardworking and strong-willed woman who will be deeply missed.

Lollie is survived by sons, Richie Ruble and John (Heather) Ruble, both of Pittsfield, IL; grandchildren, Becky (Doug) Shannon, Corey Manson, Dylan (Chrissy) Ruble, Jacob (Nicole) Ruble, Nash Ruble, John Ruble and Joel Ruble; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marjorie Sewell; husbands, Richard Ruble and George O’Neill; daughter, Margie Manson; sister, Toni Kilgore; and brothers, Wilbur ‘Bud’ and John.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation to be held prior to the service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to be made to West Cemetery or St. Mary’s Altar Society. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
