In Loving Memory of Larry Michael Koestler
Larry Michael Koestler, born January 13, 1961, passed peacefully on May 8, 2026.
Larry recently moved to Jacksonville, Illinois, but spent the majority of his life in LeSueur, Minnesota, where he built countless memories and lifelong friendships. He was the loving husband and widower of Cathleen Ellen Owens, whom he married on July 1, 1989. Together they built a family that Larry loved with his whole heart.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine E. Kelly (Stephen Kelly); granddaughters, Stephanie Gratton (Patrick Gratton) and Danielle Breberg; great-grandchildren, Alex Hernandez, Mathew Hernandez, Kyle Bussiere, Shantah Gratton, Gauge Gratton (Jeaneya Gratton), Shawn Richards, Conor Breberg, Caden Breberg, Cooper Breberg, and Claire Breberg; great-great-grandchild, David Axel Gratton; and godchildren, Dusty Hamilton and Holly Hamilton of Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Betty Collins; beloved wife, Cathleen Ellen Owens; and his son, Charles Stradford.
Larry loved nothing more than family gatherings filled with laughter, stories, and love. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and fishing, and after spending years as a truck driver, he had a story for nearly every place he had ever been. He was always ready to share a memory, make someone laugh, or brighten a room with his presence.
Larry will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he gave so freely and the memories he created with those around him. His stories, laughter, and love for family will live on in all who knew him.
Two Celebrations of Life will be held in his honor:
• May 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the home of Stephanie and Patrick Gratton in Illinois.
• June 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Ottawa Cemetery in Minnesota.
