Larry Dean Horton

Larry Dean Horton, age 80, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025 at his home in New Canton, IL.  He was born on April 2, 1945 in Rockport, IL to Delbert and Gladys (Neese) Horton.  He married Linda Billings on June 15, 1963, and she passed away on October 2, 2025.

Larry graduated from Pittsfield High School and worked at Titan Wheel for over 40 years.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, mushroom hunting and working on the farm, which was his passion.  He was hardworking and ornery, but had a great sense of humor.  He loved his grandbabies and will be dearly missed.

Larry is survived by; his daughters, Lisa Horton, Amy (Lloyd) Casto, Jo Akright, and Niki (Dale) Malone; grandchildren, Alyssa (Matt), Lauren (John), Aubrey, Delanie (Ben), Bailey, Riley (Cooper), Caden, and Alexander; great grandchildren, Lucille, Lillian, Elliette, Leia, Duke, Jaynie, Stevie, and Bowen; and his brother and sister.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

A visitation will be Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the New Canton, IL Community of Christ in New Canton, IL.  All other services will be private.  Memorials are suggested to QMG Cancer Institute or ACCIS Audrain Co. Crisis Intervention Services.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL is handling the arrangements.
