LaVonne (Young) Clark

LaVonne Evelyn Clark, age 70 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. She was born July 27, 1955, in Battle Creek, MI to Charles W. and Joan Mary Schwartz Young.

LaVonne graduated from Pennfield High School in Michigan. She later attended college earning her associate's degree in human services and receiving a certificate for geriatric care. In her earlier years, she worked at McDonalds and enjoyed Campfire Girls. LaVonne also participated on a bowling team, loved doing crafts, and was very involved with her church.

LaVonne is survived by her children, JoLynne Young and Stephen (Kendra) Clark; parents, Charles W. and Joan Young; grandchildren, Charles Lee Vinton, Kiah Vaughn Gibbs, Derrick Alan Clark, Halie Sue Clark, Embree Estelle Clark, and Kaylee Ruth Clark; step grandchildren, Toni (Jake) Clark-Patnode and Angeline Clark; great grandchildren, Luna Rae Cross, Sol Lux Vinton, Zander Star Vinton, and Charles Lee Vinton II; sister, Pamela (Bill) Lower; several aunts and uncles; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Samuel Young.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 23, 2026, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation held prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to Calvary Baptist Missions and Crafts.
